Can Topicort be used on the scalp?
Do not use it on skin areas that have cuts, scrapes, or burns. If it does get on these areas, rinse it off right away with water. To help clear up your skin or scalp problem completely, it is very important that you keep using this medicine for the full time of treatment. Do not miss any doses.
How do you use Topicort spray on your scalp?

This medication is used to treat a variety of skin conditions (e.g., eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rash). Desoximetasone reduces the swelling, itching and redness that can occur in these types of conditions. This medication is a strong corticosteroid.

Desoximetasone (Topicort) can lower your body’s ability to fight infections, including infections on your skin. It is especially important to treat skin infections with an appropriate antifungal or antibacterial if you are using desoximetasone (Topicort).
Does skin thinned by steroid recovery?
In normal regular use skin thinning is unlikely and, if it does occur, it often reverses when the topical steroid is stopped. With long-term use of topical steroid the skin may develop permanent stretch marks (striae), bruising, discolouration, or thin spidery blood vessels (telangiectasias).

Prolonged use of topical corticosteroids may cause side effects (Table 4 29). To reduce the risk, the least potent steroid should be used for the shortest time, while still maintaining effectiveness. The most common side effect of topical corticosteroid use is skin atrophy.
Is it safe to use topicort in diapers?
Tell all of your health care providers that you take Topicort Spray (desoximetasone topical spray). This includes your doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists. Do not use tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants if treated part is in the diaper area. This may cause more drug to get into the body.
