Are Suntour XCM forks any good?

Are Suntour XCM forks any good?

4.0 out of 5 stars Budget fork offering good quality, just don’t expect Rox Shocks and you’ll be satisfied. Great product at a budget price. I wasn’t expecting a top end fork at this price however I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and ride that this fork has.

What is the difference between Suntour XCM and Xcr?

XCR is really similar to the XCM but is a lighter build, which, given the coil, functionally makes them very close. The XCT is almost a hybrid fork. The build is much less dialed, and it isn’t really meant for riding where the front wheel spends much time off the ground. That said, yes, they are all similar.

Is Suntour XCM air?

This XCM 20 Air has all the important features of our adult forks just in a pint sized package. Top quality fit and finish that you expect with SR SUNTOUR products in a light weight chassis. Air adjustment allows to custom set the fork for riders of any weight or skill.

Packed with features for the cash, the Suntour Durolux R2C2 is their top-tier enduro fork. R2C2 refers to the damper being 4-way adjustable. A hollow-forged aluminium crown holds 36mm legs and an integrated (removable) fender, and its black magnesium lowers have good mud clearance even for properly meaty tyres.

Is Suntour suspension good?

The higher-level Suntour forks and shocks are very good. Don’t judge them by the bottom budget forks. I’d actually put them up there with Fox and RS on quality.

Is 100mm travel enough?

For basic trail riding I would recommend something closer to 120mm as most 100mm bikes are xc race bikes and likely won’t be as fun on most trails. If you want to do any drops or impacts then 100mm isn’t enough. You’ll bottom out every time.

Is suntour a good brand?

The Suntour Axon is obviously a pretty damn good fork if top riders are racing with it and winning. If it was holding them back they would switch.

Are Suntour forks really that bad?

The Suntour XCT fork comes on most entry level frames, and on a little more expensive ones, the XCM is standard. Are they honestly that bad for a beginner? They are for “leisure cross country” riding. They are utterly terrible and I honestly think you’d be better off learning on a rigid fork.
